DJ Ian Stratton
Once
Eclipse got started it soon became the place to be for DJ’s, as well
as party goers. It’s reputation as one of the best East Anglian
raves grew as it got bigger and bigger. Groove II Promotions would
often receive tapes from local DJ’s convinced that they had what it
would take to entertain a hardcore of Eclipse regulars.
One of those DJ’s was Ian Stratton who made his first appearance at
Eclipse in December 1991. Ian had a great talent to entertain the
crowd with his competent ability and individual style.
Ian was a big name on the rave circuit and played at many events in
East Anglia and it’s surrounding counties. As well as Eclipse he
also became a resident DJ for Kite High, and Love Of Life at the
Kelsey Kerridge in Cambridge.
In April 1992 Ian joined up with friend Dan Baker, who was also a
DJ. Together they ran ‘Groovy Toons’, a record shop in Bury St
Edmunds. The shop did well selling mostly House and Hardcore
Records. Ian did most of the buying of stock and it even featured in
‘Blaze’ magazine.
