DJ Jo Jo Rock
Jo
Jo Rock started DJ’ing in 1988 after hanging out with Prodigy
support DJ Richie around her local area Gt Yarmouth and East Anglia.
Playing at Richard’s Parties was her first real booking quickly
followed by her first major breakthrough playing original Hardcore
at the Caister Soul Weekender.
Jo Jo continued to DJ locally and in 1990 she was noticed by Love Of
Life,
Perception and Eclipse. Playing for them obviously made an impact,
as she soon became resident for these parties.
Another major high point for Jo Jo was when she was selected to play
alongside DJ legend Carl Cox at the infamous Kaos Weekender in her
hometown of Gt Yarmouth.
When the scene segregated Jo Jo chose Drum ‘n’ Bass and continued to
play at some of the big raves, as well as becoming resident for
Warning in Cambridge and Destiny on Clacton Pier. Around the same
time she also played for Desire, Blue Notes and Kool FM.
Within a short time of being accepted onto the UMC agency
(Underground Music Collective), Jo Jo’s popularity started to become
more widespread around the country, and internationally. Some of the
most recent promoters she has played for are Warning (Cambridge and
Northampton), Rumble (Norwich), Formation Records (Leicester),
Flashback (Birmingham), and London’s Best of British, Movement and
Bar Rumba. Internationally Jo Jo has been to Germany, Italy,
Switzerland, Hungary, Cleveland Ohio, Miami (ULTRA), Canada
(Resident for Empire Productions) and many others.
Jo Jo’s future looks bright with time being spent in the studio
starting her own record label, and a diary rapidly filling full of
DJ slots, Jo Jo can now start to unleash her wealth of talent
including ‘3 deck mixing’……………………………….
It’s a spectacle not to be missed!!!
