DJ PH 1
Paul
Hale (PH1) aka Paul Christian is a native of Norwich in Norfolk and
has been interested in music from a very young age, finding his real
love for dance music through the early rave scene in England.
Shortly after buying his first set of Technics decks, he started
DJ’ing way back in the eighties, playing at small parties that led
to promoters approaching him to play in local clubs. In the early
nineties Paul had many residences in his home town Norwich including
Sensateria, Hyperbolic and Intense, as well as playing at many other
gigs around the east of England. His big break came when he began
regularly playing at Eclipse in 1990 quickly becoming an established
regular.
He helped to produce, run and DJ on a local pirate radio station
called ‘Style FM’ for three years and managed a successful club
promotions company known as ‘Sheer Pleasure Promotions’ who ran many
successful raves around the Gt Yarmouth area.
In 1995 Paul became a regular DJ for London’s ‘Ministry Of Sound’
specialising on genres such as deep. Funky and Latin house. He was
the mentor and was responsible for the success of Mr DJ-Always or
better known as David James, a fellow DJ and producer who made his
way up in the DJ celebrity limelight with UK hits like Always, A
Permanent State (Hooj Records) in 2001.
